We took the train to Nong Khai, North East of Thailand at the frontier with Laos (separated by the Mekong river).
It was a 10 hours night train trip in the Special Express. It is better to buy the tickets at the station with some days of anticipation.
From the station to the hotel we got a tuk-tuk for the first time. It was not as fancy as ones in Bangkok.
